So wandering about the interwebs it seems there is a population of women who <GASP!!> believe that Eye Cream is simply just regular moisturizer placed in a smaller container! A little marketing trick to upsell you on something that’s just face cream! WHAAAAAA?!?! Ok, I’ll admit. I’ve wondered the same thing too. So I figured I’d do a little research to discover if, in fact, a dedicated eye cream is truly different; and if us women of the side part and skinny jean generation actually need it. Thank you for your supporting my blog, business, and family I'M NOT LIKE OTHER SKIN...I'M DIFFERENT
WE CAN'T STOP AGING, BUT WE CAN DO THIS!We know that as we age, our body produces less collagen. Collagen is what helps our skin maintain elasticity. Shout out to my recent obsession, Vital Proteins! I’ve noticed a marked difference in the plumpness of my skin and strength of my nails since using it. Other ways to boost collagen production is using eye creams that contain vitamin C, peptides, and. Retinol. Hyaluronic acid helps prevent water loss and improve elasticity. I have some eye cream suggestions further down in this post. Two options that offer great eye care without the possible negative health effects associated with retinol. Caffeine-containing products can help with puffiness by aiding circulation. Some studies show that cold temperatures also help with puffiness, which is why some people put their eye cream in the fridge. WHAT MAKES EYE CREAM DIFFERENTLet’s talk more about what makes eye cream different from your face moisturizer. Eye creams are formulated specifically for the eye area so they tend to be thicker and contain active ingredients dedicated to targeting the specific concerns that come with aging eye skin. Many ingredients in typical face moisturizers are too harsh for the delicate eye area, and if applied can cause irritation, burning, or redness. The concentration of ingredients in anti-aging face moisturizers will often be too strong for the eye area, which can cause more harm than good. A good eye cream has the right amount of active ingredients to safely work on the fragile eye area; and they are often tested by ophthalmologists/dermatologists for safe use around the eyes. So for help with youthful looking eyes: *wear sunglasses *boost your collagen *protect from sun damage *get good sleep *use a high quality safe eye cream - Bonus if you put it in the refrigerator! After learning all that, say it with me now... I scream, you scream, we all scream for EYE CREAM! If you're not already using an eye cream you're obsessed with, that's safe for you, check it out: Two eye creams I trust and recommend + Client Reviews: This eye cream is great for those in their 20s-early 30s. Review - “I highly highly HIGHLY recommend countertime eye cream. I had stopped using an eye cream to see if I’d notice a difference..my eye area looked terrible without using my countertime. I don’t think my moisturizer is going to do what my countertime eye cream does for my under eye area, there’s no way. I LOVE eye cream!” - Rita G.
