I spend a good amount of time in my home office; my office also serves as my workout space. As I worked with Designs by Demery during the last few months of 2020, I wanted to create a space that felt bright, airy, open, and organized. I’m sharing ways I repurposed furniture I already had; and added a few new items to make my space exactly what I wanted. Thank you for your supporting my blog, business, and family Obvious needs for any home office are: a desk or work counter space; a file cabinet, and storage. I wanted to brighten up the room so we went with lots of white. This white desk and phone stand I got from Amazon. It was quite easy to assemble even though looking at the pieces was super overwhelming. I recommend doing it with help, but it could be done solo. I keep computer paper, mailing and packing items, and other work items organized here with a little mompreneur pizzaz on top. The tall ladder shelves were previously owned and were in my living room. I sanded and painted them white to brighten the space and it's perfect for displaying merch, family photos, books, and storing my workout towels and Beautycounter samples. You can get similar baskets on Amazon, but I suggest trying your local discount home goods store like ROSS or TJ Maxx. We added some tropical flair to the space with this peel and stick wallpaper from Amazon and some plants in the room.
I follow Beachbody workout programs on my laptop right there on my desk. Fitness equipment and things like shelves, file cabinets, or desks can be bought new from stores like Target or Amazon, but I suggest checking your local Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace for deals. And that’s about it! It’s not the fanciest bougie-est office but this room makes me super happy! It is a wonderful environment to work and exercise in...if only I had a full length mirror hahaha. I love that I was able to use a lot of pieces I already had, spruce them up a bit and arrange things in a way that felt good to me. The biggest purchase was the desk and the funnest splurge was the wallpaper (besides the dumbell set which I purchased about a year ago) . I think it came together great! Like my style?
