I get so many questions and comments about my lashes on Instagram, I thought I'd lay it all out here for you guys to see what I use and how I do it. So most of you know that I'm a huge fan of Lashify's at home lash system. The thousands of women who are also obsessed with all have their own method of application that may be a little different. I find my method to be quick and simple. Just how I like my beauty routine!
If you're looking for an alternative to strip lashes and lash extensions, I highly recommend!

WHY LASHIFY?

Many of us love a beautiful luscious lash. It helps draw attention to your eyes and make you look more youthful. But for me, I could never get the hang of strip lashes - they'd be crooked, uneven, and start coming off too soon. I tried lash extensions, and I am NOT someone who cares to lay down for 1-3 hours getting them applied. Plus they would be uncomfortable, bothersome, and it struggled with eye makeup application.
Lashify's products and system was a huge game changer and I'm breaking down what I use and how I use these beautiful, quality lashes and get 3-4+ days wear out of them at a time.

PRODUCTS I USE

When you begin your Lashify system for the first time, you'll need to start with a Control Kit. It will include :
  • 2 sets of gossamers (the mini bundles of lashes with 12 per set)
  • A fuse wand (super necessary for gossamer placement & fusing)
  • Whisperlight bond (to adhere your gossamers onto you lashes)
  • Glass (a product to help waterproof your set)
Additional products I use :
  • Bondage (their strongest bond to date)
  • PreCleanse (a solution to make sure your lashes are clean before application)
  • Meltaway (I'm soon to stop using this. It works to remove the adhesive so you can remove your gossamers with the least damage, but my Beautycounter Eye Makeup Remover works just as well!)
  • 91% alcohol - which I get from Walgreens. This is what is used to clean my gossamers between uses.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Make sure your lashes are clean of any oils, make up fall out, etc.
  2. Apply your bond with microwand or microtip end
  3. Allow for the bond to get a bit tacky (similar to strip lash adhesive). Don't try to apply gossamers immediately and don't apply too much bond. It'll make it more difficult to work.
  4. Using the fuse wand apply gossamers to the underside of lashes individually. I start from the outer end and work my way in. Be sure to place the gossamers flush next to each other, leaving no gaps, and avoid applying too low that it touches your waterline. That will lead to discomfort and the gossamer will likely fall off sooner.
  5. I wait until all my gossamers are applied and lined up before I fuse (meaning pinching down on wand to make a tight hold on the gossamers). There are various methods used to fuse, follow Lashify on Instagram for tutorials and LIVE demos.

NOTE TO BEGINNERS

Be Patient!
When I first tried the system, it was super frustrating. I struggled with placement, longevity, and I would cuss at it all! LOL. I am so glad I didn't give up.
With practice, you'll find which products and methods work best for you. But try your best to take care of your gossamers, and use Lashify products! If you cut corners with bonds, etc, you may find it just doesn't work as well.

TIPS FOR WEAR & LONGEVITY

  • Be careful how you sleep. I've learned to use a smaller pillow to prop my head at night so that I'm not leaning against my lashes. Smashing them in the night is the most frequent way I lose lashes
  • Face Washing - Wash your face out of the shower with a washcloth rather than splashing your entire face with water to avoid loosening the bond.
  • Use pre-cleanse on a q-tip to carefully remove eye makeup, while avoiding getting too much product on lashes
  • Fuse occasionally if you are wearing for multiple days at a time to re-fuse any lashes that may be coming loose
  • Re-applying solo gossamers. If one gossamer falls off, you can clean it and re-apply it rather that starting from scratch.
  • Avoid getting facial oil/eye cream near lashes as it may loosen the bond while wearing
I prefer to wear only 3-4 days at a time because I want to get a good eye washing in and avoid makeup or debris build up on my lashes. It also give my natural lashes a break.
I have not had damage to my natural lashes with this product or eye irritation. However, I think my lashes don't grow as long when I use them constantly.
I find the system to be affordable because most bonds and tools I only have to buy once or very rarely. With re-using gossamers, I don't have to buy new sets but maybe every 3-4 months.

I'm a really big fan of Lashify. I think most of the products are pretty safe of wacky ingredients. You'd have to do a check for yourself depending on which things you decide to use. But I love the look I'm able to create using lashes of my choice. You can absolutely customize your look with the variety of gossamer options available. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message. I check my Instagram most frequently, so be sure to try me there at happilyhomemom.
