Being Spoiled Changed My Life

My dad is the most hard working man I know.  He's a rock solid picture of the American Dream.  Building his  business from scratch, all on his own - he's the story of warehouse to penthouse, metaphorically speaking.  I say that to lead into my next point.  I'm spoiled.  Not because my father is a man of superior wealth, but because he's a man of superior giving.  It gives my dad so much joy and satisfaction to do something well, and that includes taking care of his family.

With that, I've had the great fortune of being wonderfully taken care of all my life.  Don't get me wrong, I am indebted to my dad for the awesome experiences he's provided, but I have one complaint.  I could never truly call something my own; never feel the pride of pulling myself up from my own bootstraps.

Becoming a mother was the catalyst for truly wanting that dream to be my own.  I want that blood, sweat, and tears chapter; I want to look at something I've built and accomplished through hard work, dedication, commitment, and heart.  I would never EVER have thought that would come in the awkwardly packaged gift of a home based direct sales company.

I am so grateful I gave Beautycounter a chance.  I finally look at my paycheck with a smile and know that I earned every single dollar of it.  I create income using my own set of talents & skills in ways that I choose, not ways someone else expects me to.  I'm able to send my son to a school of our choice, and I am for once, able to taste the satisfaction of fulfillment, purpose, and taking care of my own.

So I guess I'm a lot like my dad.  I have a deep desire for building something amazing, I love to look at a job well done, and I could never get enough of providing for my family.  Thank you dad, for everything.
